(KVOE) Workers at Emporia's Hostess plant are ready to strike if the company voids their current contract.
KVOE Radio says sources told them the local union's vote Wednesday was unanimous. The union represents roughly 90-percent of the Emporia plant's 450 workers. The Bakery and Confectioners union says members are concerned about pensions and medical insurance.
Hostess filed for bankruptcy in January. The New York Post reports creditors rejected two offers to buy the company. Earlier this week, a bankruptcy judge denied a Hostess request to scrap contracts with its other union, the Teamsters.
