TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Imagine a tornado devastating several Kansas communities.
That's exactly what emergency responders did Tuesday. Approximately 80 people from a number of state agencies and emergency response organizations came together for a table-top exercise testing their response to a disaster situation.
Northeast Incident Management Team Leader Alan Radcliffe says the drills not only helps agencies improved their skills, they also help people get to know each other. He says such networking before a disaster helps to establish a level of trust in the event they work together in the future.
Haz-Mat, search and rescue and the state's emergency management team were among those taking part.
