MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Police say an unsuspecting woman was doing yard work when she was struck by a pellet gun out of a passing car.
The victim, an unidentified 71-year-old Manhattan resident, contact the Riley County Police Department Saturday, August 3, 2013 to report that she was injured by a projectile.
The crime occurred in the southwest portion of Manhattan in the 400 block of Westview Drive around 4:30 PM.
Officials say a gray vehicle with several people inside slowed while the victim was working in her yard and one of the passengers shot a pellet-like object at her from what police believe was a pellet gun, striking her in the upper leg.
The car drove off and now the case is under investigation.
The victim received minor injuries. She was not transported to the hospital.
