Eisenhower Exhibit Marks Pearl Harbor 70th
ABILENE, Kan. (AP) _ A new exhibit on display at the Eisenhower
Presidential Library and Museum recalls the historic events
surrounding the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor.
The exhibit developed by the staff at the Abilene center includes documents and artifacts from the Eisenhower holdings. This
is the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attack on the U.S. Pacific
Fleet, which claimed the lives of 2,400 Americans.
Through December, visitors will be able to view Pearl Harbor
posters, buttons, sheet music, commemorative stamps and Japanese military items.
The library and museum are located in Abilene, the boyhood home
of Dwight D. Eisenhower, who commanded Allied forces in World War
II.
