TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A woman died Wednesday morning in east Topeka after the motorcycle in which she was riding was hit by a car.
The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. at Golf Park Boulevard and SE Adams Street.
When officers arrived, they found the motorcycle's female passenger with life-threatening injuries. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. She has been identified as Shara McCracken, 29, of Topeka.
Family members told 13 News that Shara was riding the motorcycle with her husband. Police said he had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
Police haven't released details on what caused the accident, but both driver and passenger from the car that hit the motorcycle were taken to the Law Enforcement Center to be questioned by detectives.
After being interviewed, the driver of the car, Ronald Fritz, 21, of Topeka, was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on charges of Aggravated Battery and Second Degree Murder.
Police said further information about the incident will be withheld pending completion of the investigation.
