(WIBW) - Emporia State University is looking for a new dean for its business school.
Dr. Joseph Wen announced Friday he'll leave the post June 30th. He's taken a job as dean of the College of Business administration and Public Policy at California State University in Dominquez Hills, California.
Wen's been at ESU since 2008. He says the move will take him closer to family.
“I have experienced immense personal satisfaction, both from my job assignments and from the close friendships I have established with my colleagues,” Wen said, “which have helped make my years with ESU successful and productive. My colleagues have been among the finest people I have ever known.”
Dr. John Rich will take over as interim dean, effective July 1. Rich is an associate professor of accounting and information systems at ESU.
Rich joined the ESU faculty in 1971. He has served as chair of the Division of Accounting and Computer Information Systems, Acting Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs and Associate Dean of the School of Business during his tenure. He also served as coordinator for the AACSB International accreditation project and self-evaluation, which resulted in the school’s accreditation in 2002.
ESU says it will begin a search for a permanent dean in the fall.
