TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The trial for a Topeka Zoo veterinarian's discrimination lawsuit against the city starts Tuesday.
In June, Judge John Lungstrum ruled that zoo veterinarian Shirley Llizo failed to show how city officials have repeatedly discriminated against employees.
Tuesday's trial will proceed on Llizo's personal claims.
Llizo says she was fired in 2009 because of her race. Llizo was re-hired at the zoo in 2010, and granted back-pay for the months she didn't work.
