The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center will ring in the <B>Year of the Horse</B> with “kid-friendly” activities on Friday, Jan 31, at 11AM and Saturday, Feb 1, at 11AM & 2PM.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center will ring in the Year of the Horse with “kid-friendly” activities on Friday, Jan 31, at 11AM and Saturday, Feb 1, at 11AM & 2PM.

Friday, January 31, marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year, the first day of the Chinese calendar.

To celebrate the Year of the Horse, children will discover the unique way horses see the world. Families can create a Chinese Parade Dragon puppet, learn about the Chinese zodiac, and make their own zodiac animal mask!

Discovery Center milestones in the works for 2014 are expanded rock climbing wall, outdoor music garden and the 200,000th visitor.
