TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A deadline for a possible strike is looming for Goodyear and its union members.
Steelworkers Local 307 issued a 72-hour notice earlier this week. It expires at 1:00 p.m. Friday.
Both Local 307 President Robert Tripp and Topeka Plant Spokesperson Whitney Watson say both sides continue working to reach agreement on their local contract.
A master contract covering six Goodyear plans was approved this summer -- but separate agreements spell out specifics for each location.
Tripp says that includes things like work rules, scheduling and vacation language.
Watson says four plants have approved their local agreements -- Topeka and Danville, Virginia have not.
