TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Shawnee County Emergency Management announced plans Thursday for selling its next round of low-cost weather radios.
Emergency Management Director Dave Sterbenz says they'll be for sale from 2 to 6 pm Monday, Nov. 12, at Crestview Shelter House in Topeka.
The cost is $7.70. Only cash payment is accepted.
Recipients must show proof they are a Shawnee County resident. Only one radio per household is allowed under the grant that made the low-cost offer possible.
Those who reserved a radio through an earlier waiting list also can pick it up at this time.
Sterbenz ordered 1,000 additional radios for the Monday sale. He was inundated with requests and quickly sold out of three previous orders of several hundred each. The radios are available by a program through which the state picks up 75-percent of the cost.
