TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor said Friday he will talk to 13 News Monday about his plans to form an exploratory committee for U.S. Senate.
He said the committee will help him decide if he should run on the Democrat ticket for U.S. Senate against incumbent Republican Sen. Pat Roberts in 2014.
Taylor was elected Shawnee County D.A. in 2008, and took office in 2009.
Republican Pat Roberts has been serving in the U.S. Senate since 1997. Before that he served for 16 years in the U.S. House of Representatives.
A Republican doctor from Kansas City, Milton Wolf, is challenging Roberts for his seat in 2014.
Wolf became nationally known as an outspoken critic of the Affordable Care Act.
He has also criticized Roberts for his Senate vote to confirm Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. This is Wolf's first time running for political office.
