SHAWNEE COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW)-- Emergency crews were dispatched south of Rossville just before 11:00 a.m. Thursday after a driver was ejected from his vehicle.
Dispatchers received the call at 10:48 a.m. and sent crews to the 4800 block of NW Carlson Road.
Steven Scott, 62, of Rossville was traveling northbound on Carlson Road when his jeep hit a culvert near Rossville, ejecting him from the vehicle as it came to rest in a corn field, according to the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office. The jeep stopped 25 feet from the roadway.
A dispatcher described the man being "shot into a corn field."
Scott was thrown from his jeep, receiving what authorities described as "serious but non-life threatening injuries."
Further details of the accident weren't immediately released.
