Crash On US-56 Claims 2 Lives

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) - A two vehicle accident claimed two lives on US-56 according to Kansas Highway Patrol authorities.

A Nissan and a Chevy Silverado collided around 11:45 Friday morning.

The Nissan, driven by 21-year-old Bryan Alfred of Junction City, was southbound on US-56 when it went left of center and struck the Silverado. The Nissan entered the east ditch and overturned.

20-year-old Amber Alfred of Junction City and 2-year-old Josiah Alfred were killed in the crash.

Bryan Alfred was flown to Saint Francis in Wichita along with 6-year-old Keith Johnson who was in the car with him.

41-year-old Toby Biehler, who was driving the Silverado, was transported to Herington Hospital along with 23-year-old Austin Roberts, 16-year-old Ty Morris and 17-year-old Seth Beihler who were riding in the Silverado. The severity of their injuries is unknown.

According to the KHP Crash Log, no one in either vehicle was wearing a safety restraint.
