TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A man and woman were booked into Shawnee County Jail Thursday morning after a police chase that spanned two counties.
Topeka Police say at 12:36 a.m., officers attempted to pull over a white, 2002 Chevy Suburban at 6th and Harrison, and the driver fled. The pursuit continued onto I-70 west, then north onto Highway 75.
Topeka Police requested Shawnee County Sheriff's assistance as the chase exited city limits. Police say a TPD K-9 then continued with deputies into Jackson County, where Jackson County deputies and Tribal police joined in to help end the chase.
The suspect vehicle stopped at 150th and N. Highway 75 without further incident. Authorities arrested the driver, John Holt, 42, for auto theft and felony fleeing and eluding. They also arrested the passenger, Amanda Keaton, 31, for possession of methamphetamine.
The Chevy Suburban they were in was found to be a reported stolen vehicle out of Lawrence.
