TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Shawnee County Commissioners didn't meet Thursday.

That's in part because Commissioner Shelly Buhler is taking part in the Chamber Of Commerce Inner-City Visit.

Fifty-three area professionals are in Fort Collins, Colorado. They left Wednesday and will return Friday.

Fort Collins Mayor Karen Weitkunat was among those addressing the group during Thursday's session.

13's Chris Fisher, Jeremy Goodwin and General Manager Jim Ogle are among those participating.

The goal of the trips is to give community leaders a chance to visit a city that faced similar issues as those in Topeka or that undertook similar projects as those Topeka is discussing. It's hoped ideas from the destination city's successes can be used to bolster projects in Topeka.

In Fort Collins, the city's bicycle lanes, trails and downtown development are areas of focus.
