Country Stampede Kicks Off In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -Country music lovers couldnt have asked for a better outlook for this years country stampede.

The four day festival kicked off Thursday and fans today were thrilled to be outdoors.

Manhattan, Kansas has been host of the Country Stampede since 1995 and every year fans get more and more excited, some have seen them all like Dan Murphy who's been coming since the beginning. "I just love being reunited with all my friends every year down here and we've sort of turned it into a reunion each year."

The concerts will see well over 150,000 fans by the end of Sunday, and some will even stay the entire weekend..

"We came out with a good sized group, and we camp out and grill out and are staying the entire weekend," said country fan Jeff Vaughan.

With all of Wednesday's rain behind them, the clear skies, bright sunshine and lots of down home country music will be sure to please those in attendance at this year's Country Stampede.

"It's great out here. Its usually really hot but this year we have a breeze and its a little better, i grew up with country music and don't know anything else," said Kansas native Ivy Avles

Fans were especially excited to see Luke Bryan Thursday nigh but you can still catch great acts like Zac Brown Band or Toby Keith in the days to come. For tickets and a complete lineup list head to countrystampede.com
