TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A newly formed council designed to promote the electronic sharing of health information held its first meeting.
Members from the KanHit Advisory Council met in the Curtis State Office Building.
KanHit is the new office of health information technology at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
It replaces the Kansas Health Information Exchange, which was disbanded.
The office is in charge of regulating health information organizations in Kansas. The advisory council represents healthcare consumers, providers and other sectors of the health care system.
KanHit began July 1, 2013.
