TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Construction problems on a busy section of Gage Boulevard are causing headaches for commuters.
The intersection of SW 35th and Gage closed when the next phase of a road project started in that area a couple weeks ago.
That's meant commuters in a nearby neighborhood only have 33rd Terrace open when leaving their homes.
It's been creating backups. This moring, we saw a Topeka Police Officer directing traffic to assist during morning rush hour.
Workers say 35th should re-open next week. Giving local residents another option and hopefully easing the congestion.
