TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Kansas Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins touched down in the Capitol City to break bread with state lawmakers.
Jenkins hosted a reception luncheon at the Statehouse, thanking local lawmakers for their service.
The Congresswoman said issues such as infrastructure, education and an impending water bill are just a few of the hot topics that effect Shawnee County residents and the state.
"We haven't had an opportunity to really do and go through our appropriations bills for many, many years, so that's refreshing. Of course the NBAF funding will be on the table again, we need another $300 million to get that project through another year. So lots to work on the weeks and months ahead," Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R).
Jenkins is seeking re-election this fall, she faces a primary challenge from State Senator Steve Fitzgerald. Margie Wakefield is the Democrats candidate.
