TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)--Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins joined with the House Leadership Team to offer her condolences to the victims of the Oklahoma tornado.

“Our hearts are broken for the victims in Oklahoma. As a Kansan, this hits entirely too close to home. It seems like just yesterday, I was touring the devastation in Joplin, Missouri."

“Midwesterners are resilient and we take care of one another. This time will be no different."

“We ask for prayers and contributions to help with the relief and recovery."

“Today is one of those days where we aren’t just plumbers, or electricians, doctors, or Members of Congress, we are moms and dads and brothers and sisters. I know as a momma, I just want to go hug my kids.”
