Computer Upgrade Will Temporarily Keep Kansans From Registering To Vote

TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)-- A computer upgrade that will shut down state motor vehicle offices will also keep you from registering to vote online.

Secretary of State Kris Kobach says online voter registation will shut down at 7P.M Monday until May 7.

It's the same reason no state and county offices will be able to do vehicle title work, renew registrations or issue driver's licenses during that time.

The revenue department is converting to a new system for driver licensing, vehicle titling and registration.

The changeover also will prevent new online voter registrations.
