MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A charitable gesture is helping the needy in the Wamego area.
The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers gathered at the Manhattan Hilton Thursday for their annual meeting.
Members donated a check to the Community Health Ministry of Wamego.
The money was raised during a charity golf tournament and will be used to help provide food, supplies and dental care to those less fortunate in rural communities, including children.
“We are giving them a check today for $1000 to help the community- those who cannot afford dental care, those who cannot afford many simple things like shoes or food. We want to be a part of that and give back to the community and we hope to do this several more years,” said Michael Holmes with the Flint Hills Association of Life Insurance Underwriters in Manhattan.
