Community Blood Center Feels Impact Of Storm

(WIBW) - Community Blood Center is feeling the effects of the latest round of winter weather.

The organization says it will lose nearly two days worth of blood as a result of being closed Tuesday. All six donation centers in Kansas and Missouri shut down Tuesday. In addition, mobile blood drives were canceled due to the inclement weather. The loss is on top of winter weather keeping donors away last week Thursday and Friday as well.

CBC provides blood and blood products for 70 hospitals in Kansas and Missouri.

CBS asks people to donate Wednesday if they can. All donation centers will be open from 8 am to 6 pm Wednesday. In Topeka, CBC's collection center is at 800 SW Lane.
