TOPEKA, Kan(WIBW)--For Papi Sorrelis devastation from the most destructive wildfires in Colorado history hits close to home.

Sorrelis was out on tour when he heard that his friend's house had been lost in the Colorado Springs fires and he had a burning desire to help.

His quest started just last Wednesday. Sorrelis started a money and donation drive in Des Moines to help those who, like his friend, lost so much.

His next stop was a familiar bar in Topeka, where he has played many shows. He used Facebook to spread the word and locals have been dropping off supplies all week.

Sorrelis and his crew spent the afternoon loading his truck with items for families in Colorado.

Now, all he has to do is load up and go home.
