College Hill Neighborhood Gets Early Start On Independence Day Fun

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Independence Day festivities started early in one area of Topeka.

College Hill kicked off its celebrations Thursday night with a neighborhood get-together. Attendees had the chance to decorate bikes, get their faces painted, play with a giant Jenga game and even eat some yummy pies.

Signal Ridge, a bluegrass band from Lawrence, provided live entertainment.

College Hill is one of several neighborhoods hosting parades on July4th. Their event is slated for 10 am. The Collins Park parade is 11 am, while Lake Sherwood is at 11:30 am. The City of Wamego plans a parade at 6 pm Friday.
