Civic Leaders Gather To Keep King's Dream Alive

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Doctor King's Dream was also alive and well at the 8th Annual Executive Leadership Recognition luncheon.

Organizers celebrated King's birthday week activities by honoring those who are working to promote Dr. King's Dream in the workplace and the workforce.

"We can do that by these type of activities coming together and acknowledging one another and really lifting up good things that are going on in our community," Glenda DuBoixe, Co-Chairperson.

Keynote speaker was Junction City native and KU professor Kevin Willmott. Willmott talked about his upcoming film, "Jayhawk Country. The fallout when Wilt Chamberlain integrated Lawrence and the KU Basketball team.
