TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka city officials are warning about a man visiting Topeka homes, saying he's there to collect money for unpaid water bills.
Director of the city's Office of Utilities and Transportation Braxton Copley says field meter service employees are prohibited from entering anyone's home unless an appointment has been scheduled.
Officials say city employees wear a uniform, have a city ID card, and drive marked city vehicles. Residents can always call 785-368-3111 for verification of employment.
