TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - An official request is in for the district attorney to investigate whether the Topeka Metro Transit Authority board violated the state's open meetings act.
Interim City Manager Dan Stanley sent a letter to DA Chad Taylor Wednesday. The city council requested the action at their meeting Tuesday night.
The Topeka Metro board called an emergency meeting March 29th, but didn't notify media until afterward, when they held a news conference to announce an agreement ending CEO Janlynn Nesbett Tucker's employment.
The board has said its attorney advised prior notification wasn't necessary in this instance.
