TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)-- Topeka city council members approved a mill levy increase for the Topeka metropolitan transit authority for next year.
It's the fourth year in a row council members have authorized a mill levy, not to exceed 4.2 mills for TMTA funding.
Board chairman Rod Miller told council members he hoped to make the increase more permanent in the future.
The council also adopted the Topeka bikeways master plan, to create more bike-friendly Topeka streets.
No public money was approved for that venture - organizers say they're committed to private funding.
