TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka city officials say they found no evidence to substantiate claims of a hostile work environment at Topeka Municipal Court.
City Manager Jim Colson's office confirms it received an anonymous letter which also was sent to media, including 13 News. It claiming municipal court workers were being bullied. Colson says the complaint did not target administrative judge Vic Miller or associate judge Lloyd Swartz.
He says the city's human resources and legal departments launched an investigation. It included interviewing eleven municipal court employees. Colson said the process was consistent with how the city would evaluate any other complaint.
"We were not able to corroborate any of the allegations," Colson said in a statement released Thursday. "However, we remain vigilant in ensuring all City employees work in a positive and constructive environment, and that they comfortable expressing their concerns.”
Colson said all allegations that could impact a person's work environment are taken seriously.
