TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Southwest and Downtown Optimist Clubs of Topeka began selling Christmas trees on Friday, Nov. 23, opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 8 p.m. The regular hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
The Christmas tree lot is located on the north side of 29th Street near Brookwood Shopping Center in the Big Shunga Park area.
Several types of Christmas trees are available, ranging in height between 2' and 9'. Additionally, there are bundles of decorative tree limbs, tree disposal bags and tree life packets available.
Persons who purchased a tree with the Clubs last year are reminded to bring their $2.00 discount coupon for redemption on this year's tree.
This will be the Clubs' 52nd and final year of selling Christmas trees. "The club would like to thank our loyal customers for the tremendous support this past half century toward our goal to provide monetary donations to Topeka area youth projects and community groups."
