Choirs To Perform At Flint Hills Discovery Center During Holiday Season

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Students from five schools in the Central Flint Hills Region will help usher in the holiday spirit when they lend their voices to the Flint Hills Discovery Center during four free concerts in December.

Dubbed, “Musical Thursdays at the FHDC,” these special performances are scheduled for: Dec. 6, 13 and 20. The choral groups will sing holiday tunes or competition pieces.

The Jammin' Northstars Choir from Northview Elementary will perform at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 and the St. George Honor Choir will perform at 6:30 p.m. that evening.

On Thursday, Dec. 13, students from Manhattan High School Choirs will sing at 6:30 p.m.

Sheridan Elementary’s Sharp Stallions and the Geary County Children’s Choir will perform consecutively at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20.

“The Flint Hills Discovery Center is thrilled to host students from three local school districts as they showcase their talent and cheer this season. The acoustics in our glass atrium are fabulous, and this is sure to be an unforgettable holiday experience,” said Pamela Redford, outreach coordinator, FHDC.

As an added bonus, visitors can enjoy free admission to the FHDC from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6, 13 and 20.
