(KAKE)-- Wichita police officers have arrested a woman after her child was found wandering outside late last night.
An area resident found a four-year-old boy wandering near Harry and Cypress around 10:35 Sunday night. The child was calling for his mother.
Police responded and searched nearby homes. They found an open door and discovered the child's mother passed out. When she woke up, she began looking for her son but officers told her he was fine.
Police say she was drunk and fought with officers, then had to be taken to the ground and handcuffed. She was arrested for child endangerment and on an outstanding warrant.
The child was not injured and was released to the custody of a relative.
