Charges Upgraded, Trial Date Set In Topeka Murder

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka man will stand trial on upgraded murder charges.

Marshall Stewart IV is now charged with first degree murder and attempted first degree felony murder.

Stewart is accused of killing 29-year-old Stephen Coen and injuring 21-year-old Oliver Evans. The victims were found in a car that hit a tree in the Meadowood Mobile Home Neighborhood December 18, 2011.

Stewart's trial will begin on May 14, 2012.
