TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A coroner's report sheds new light on a Shawnee County murder-suicide.
52-year old Carolyn Jackson and her husband, 57-year old Andrew Jackson were found dead in their Tecumseh home May 29th.
Shawnee County Coroner Dr. Donald Pojman said Monday that an autopsy showed Carolyn died of asphyxia. He says she was suffocated, possibly by being held face down on the floor with pressure to the back of the head and neck. He says she suffered some other minor bruising, but no fractures.
Pojman says Andrew Jackson died from drowning himself in a bathtub. He says initial toxicology reports show Andrew Jackson was taking anti-depressants, consistent with a prescription.
Court records show Carolyn had filed for divorce in March.
