TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A real-life cat on a hit tin roof sparked concern around Topeka's VA Hospital campus Monday.
Workers around Building 3 say they first spotted the black and white baby atop their adjacent smoking shelter building a couple day ago. The roof of the building had a metal surface so, in the 90+ degree temps, they were worried about what was literally a kitten on a hot tin roof. A tree was right next to it when 13 News caught a glimpse Monday afternoon, but the scaredy cat wouldn't budge from its perch.
Maintenance and security arrived a few minutes after 13 News did. Whether the camera spooked it or they did, the cat was gone. It seems the kitty finally scampered to safer heights.
