The men and women serving overseas have their own heroes here at home.

Gov. Brownback signs a proclamation honoring military children during "Month of the Military Child in Kansas"

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The men and women serving overseas have their own heroes here at home.

Governor Sam Brownback paid tribute to them Friday; They are our nation's military children.

Brownback proclaimed April as Month of the Military Child in Kansas.

Military Children of the Teen Council, who represent the Kansas National Guard
Youth attended the Statehouse ceremony along with Adjutant General Lee Tafanelli.

Kansas Senators and Representatives also read resolutions applauding military children for their service.
