TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A false alarm bomb scare sent kids of one Manhattan school to a nearby elementary school to wait while police searched their building.

USD 383 officials say that a student told a staff member at Woodrow Wilson that another student said he placed a pipe bomb inside the school.

This was just after 9 a.m. Friday. Students and staff evacuated to Bluemont Elementary while the Manhattan Fire Department and Riley County Police Department did a sweep of Woodrow Wilson and investigated.

No bomb was found. Students returned to school around 10 a.m.
