LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) -- The body of the University of Kansas Peruvian graduate student who was reported missing over the weekend was discovered behind a Lawrence home early Monday afternoon, police said.
Twenty-three year-old Gianfranco Villagomez-Saldana's body was found around 1:30 p.m. in the grass behind a house in the 800 block of Avalon Blvd.
The preliminary investigation indicates no foul play was involved, although an autopsy and further investigation is planned for Tuesday, according to Lawrence Police Sgt. Trent McKinley.
The body was discovered less than two blocks from the home Gianfranco Villagomez-Saldana, the Peruvian graduate student who disappeared over the weekend. He was last seen walking from his apartment to a destination at 11th and Mississippi Street.
