TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A local cafe is celebrating it's new chapter.
Boca Cafe in College Hill hosted a ribbon cutting under new owners Friday evening.
Washburn University art students attended. They helped create a mural that celebrates the life of former owner Pedro Concepcion. The 26-year old was forced to sell in August, when he was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer.
New owner James Weckerling says he'll continue the Mediterranean menu with a Hispanic mix that Pedro created.
Attendees Friday night heard music from Judd Mason and enjoyed performances form members of Washburn University's theatre department.
