TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Two area organizations are teaming up to help kansans through disasters.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas today announced formation of a special "Disaster Response Team". It's comprised entirely of BCBS employees and will be deployed by the American Red Cross to respond to large-scale disasters like floods and tornadoes.
Twenty-nine employees make up the team. In addition to providing the volunteers, BCBS foundation also presented the Red Cross a $25,000 donation to assist the Red Cross Crisis Response Mission.
