TOPEKA (WIBW) -- The Helping Hands Humane Society Foundation, Inc. has selected Bill Acree as the new Chief Executive Officer/ President effective January 1, 2014. Acree has been serving as Executive Director of Helping Hands Humane Society (HHHS) for the last three years.
Bill joined HHHS in 2003 as the Development Director. He continued in that role until October 2010 when he was asked by the Board of Directors to step into the role of Executive Director.
“Our wonderful new facility is testament to Bill Acree’s vision and his skills in fund raising. We think he’s exactly the right person to lead our Foundation’s efforts to secure the future of the Helping Hands Humane Society,” said Foundation Board Chair Sandra Falen.
“I am very excited and honored to have been selected as the new CEO for the Helping Hands Humane Society Foundation. HHHS is a great organization with a tremendous new facility and opportunities. I look forward to continuing the efforts of the shelter being the “second best home your pet will ever have” and working for the financial stability of the organization,” said Acree. “I’m grateful to the Foundation Board of Directors for this new challenge and opportunity and to the HHHS Board for their support over the years.”
Bill Acree will continue to work closely with the Shelter, noted HHHS Board President Betty Lou Pardue: “Bill worked tirelessly to raise money for our new Animal Resource Center of Northeast Kansas. His enthusiasm for the project was felt by everyone who toured the facility at every stage of completion. In his new position as Foundation President and CEO, Bill will continue with much needed fund raising efforts. The Helping Hands Humane Society will always depend upon the generosity of our friends, who help us care for thousands of homeless pets each year.”
