MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- It was all about beauty and wellness in the Little Apple Wednesday night as members of area businesses flocked to a local salon and spa.

Bellus Academy in the Westloop Shopping Center hosted the Business After Hours event for the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce.

While mingling with one another, guests were also able to tour the 20,000 square foot beauty school that specializes in cosmetology, nails, esthetics and massage therapy.

“We’ve been a staple part of the Manhattan community and the Westloop Shopping Center just got remodeled this last year and we actually just completed an interior remodel and we wanted to share everything with our community and all the businesses in town what we do at Bellus Academy. It’s a great turnout. I’ve heard several people mention they’ve been in a cosmetology school before and this is definitely the one to be in,” said David Yocum, the director of Bellus Academy.

Bellus Academy handed out $5,000 worth of gift cards to those in attendance.

Several hundred people turned out for the event.
