MANHATTAN, Kan. – Community members now have a name to put with the face of Sunset Zoo’s new colobus monkey baby, Kasasa, named after ESB Financial’s Kasasa brand of free checking and savings accounts. With branches in Manhattan and Emporia, the local bank won the opportunity to name the Zoo’s newest addition during the Zoo’s recent Brew at the Zoo fundraiser.
“Thank you to the staff and customers of ESB Financial, your support is crucial to our ability to remain a quality community destination for years to come,” said Scott Shoemaker, Zoo Director.
Community members can visit the new baby boy in the primate building located along the Zoo’s African Forest Trail. Guests should look for the all-white Kasasa clinging to its mother, Blinkin. The last few weeks have brought increased independence for the infant as he begins to explore his exhibit, at times venturing a few inches away from mom.
ESB Financial is an active supporter of Sunset Zoo, hosting a free community-wide shred day in support of the Zoo each fall. The fourth annual event will be held on Kasasa’s three month birthday: Saturday, September 22. From 9am – Noon, community members are encouraged to protect against identity theft by bringing up to five boxes of personal documents to the bank’s Manhattan branch located at 224 E Poyntz Ave.
The event features drive through service and vehicles should enter the bank’s drive-thru off of Sarber Lane. Each participating vehicle will also receive a free family pass to visit baby Kasasa at Sunset Zoo this fall.
