TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)--At least one charity scam is already making its way around after the explosion in Boston.
The Better Business Bureau is warning people about red flags when donating to potential charities in the wake of a tragedy.
They say to check the charity out first and make sure it's a trusted one and remind your family and friends to do the same.
They also say to be cautious when donating online and watch out for look-alike websites.
Make sure the charity identifies what the funds will be used for specifically.
Anyone who encounters any type of scam should report it to the BBB.
