(WIBW) - A search for burglary suspects brought authorities to Saint George Tuesday.
Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat says a deputy spotted a vehicle possibly involved in recent burglaries. By the time the deputy turned around and caught up with it, the occupants had left the vehicle in the parking lot of the Saint George Trailer Court and took off.
Deputies began looking for the vehicle's occupants. The Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter and Onaga police assisted in the search. Riat says Saint George Elementary School was notified as a precaution during the search, which he says is standard procedure in such situations.
The vehicle's occupants weren't found, but the vehicle was seized to search for evidence. Riat says any information obtained from the search will be sent to the county attorney for review.
