Authorities Search For 2 Suspects In Family Dollar Holdup

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka Police are looking for two men who held up a store.

Around 7:50 pm Thursday, Topeka Police say the suspects walked into the Family Dollar Store at 1313 SW 21st St., near Washburn University. Officers say one of them pulled a gun on the two clerks who were working and demanded cash. When the clerks opened the drawer, the suspects grabbed an undisclosed amount and took off. It was unknown whether they ran from the scene or made their getaway in a vehicle.

The suspects are described only as a white man and a black man in their mid-twenties. They were wearing black jackets with hoodies under them.

Two customers also were in the store, but officers say they did not witness the holdup. Neither the customers nor the clerks were injured.

Anyone with information on what happened should call Topeka Crime Stoppers, 785-234-0007.
