TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Shawnee County deputies responded to 2920 Virginia and reported hearing gunshots in the area. About ten minutes later a deputy located a suspect vehicle in the area of 18th and Indiana.
Topeka Police were coming to assist the deputy when the driver of a white Cadillac fled the area and lead authorities on a chase that ended in the parking lot of Stormont-Vail hospital.
Authorities found the passenger in the car suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The driver was taken to the Law Enforcement Center. No injuries were reported at 2920 Virginia, but the house had been struck by gunfire.
Detectives were conducting interviews early Wednesday morning. They say more information will be released at a later time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detectives at 368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
