Argument Over Loud Music Turns Dangerous In Junction City

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Junction City police are searching for a gunman who opened fire outside of an apartment building following a disagreement over blaring music.

The case is being investigated as an Attempted Homicide.

At 2:45 PM Thursday, March 23, 2012, officers were called to an apartment on Elmdale Avenue. The victim, who is not being identified, told police that he had an argument with the suspect in the parking lot because the suspect was playing loud music in his Cadillac. Officials say the victim did not know the suspect.

According to police, the suspect took offense to the victim’s comments. He left the area but came back a short time later.

The victim heard the music again and went outside to investigate and that’s when Junction City Police Chief Tim Brown says the suspect fired three shots at him. Brown says the bullets missed the victim and struck the residence behind him.

A detailed description of the gunman is not available. No one was injured.
