TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Another case of chicken pox has hit the Seaman school district.

The latest case makes a total of seven students diagnosed between Seaman High School, Seaman Middle School and Elmont Elementary. Out of the seven students, six had been vaccinated or had previously had the disease.

Seaman officials are cautioning parents not to worry.

"It's not something to be concerned about," USD 345 spokesperson Jeff Zehnder said. "(It's) not like the flu going around and lots of kids getting it. It's a very limited percentage, something we have a few cases of every year."

The last time there was a major outbreak of the chicken pox in the Seaman school district was the 2005-2006 school year, when 12 cases were diagnosed overall.
